ABOUT

SOPHIE WINTER

ACTOR AND THEATRE MAKER

Sophie is currently performing in Milky Peaks at Theatr Clwyd.

I am a London based theatre maker and musician and I graduated from The L’École Jacques Lecoq in 2011.

I am a conductor with Some Voices, 'London's coolest choir' (Timeout). I also sing professionally; examples of my work and Some Voices work can be seen here. As a professional singer I have worked at venues such as The Southbank Centre and The Troxy.

My previous theatre credits include Milky Peaks  (Theatr Clwyd and Áine Flanigan Productions), Jude Starbeam and the Shadow Planet (The Albany), Don’t Panic! It’s Challenge Anneka (UK tour), No Place Like (On the Button), The Overcoat (On the Button), The School for Scandal (directed by Jessica Swale) and Ashputtel (Forest Forge Theatre). In 2011 I co- founded On the Button with Ben Hadley. As a director I have worked alongside Longborough Festival Opera, Yellow Earth Theatre and Some Voices.

I have assisted as a movement director; devised new pieces of theatre; directed new writing; created new musicals and assisted on operas.

I take workshops with students from ages 12+ specialising in Lecoq technique. These workshops form a large part of my work with On the Button.
